>> at 11 -- a standoff with two bank robbery suspects ends peacefully at this e-z eight motel. in newark. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc-7 news. it started after the men. entered a bank of the west branch in fremont. and demanded money. kron 4's reggie kumar shows us the dramatic outcome. five minutes after police shot two tear gas canisters into the window of this e-z eight motel room in newark. the second bank robbery suspect opened the door. with his hands up in the air, but then put them down. police quickly yelled at him to put his hands back up in the air. they demanded that the suspect turn around and walk backwards toward them. after taking several steps the suspect was told to put his hands behind his head, get down on his knees and continue backwards. investigators say this suspect did not have a weapon on him, and a gun was not found in the room. although.they say the first bank robbery suspect who surrendered monday afternoon did have a knife on him. they say some of the money

stolen from the bank was recovered from the first suspect. in newark reggie kumar kron 4 news. >> a controversial new gun shop in los gatos has some people up in arms. many residents say, the store doesn't belong there. the store's owner says. he has even received a death threat. kron4's scott rates attended an emotional town hall meeting. and has reaction from concerned residents, and supporters of the gun shop. >> they should this come out and say it this is about the second amendment. >> this is not a of a second amendment. to our right. taking away our rights for restricting our rights would impact us as a free society. >> they would put this on an agenda for a future meeting. no decision was made tonight. reporting from los

gatos, scott rates, kron 4. >> pam: on to a developing story. the manhunt for former police officer and accused killer. christopher dorner. dorner has been charged with murdering a riverside police week. he is also charged with attempted murder of another riverside officer and two l- a-p-d officers. kron 4's grant lodes has details on where dorner is now believed to be hiding. and new surveillance video. lapd says. christopher dorner was fired. for falsely accusing a fellow officer of brutality. it is possible that he has fled to mexico. even though he is not been spotted in mexico. he could however have had help eluding. police. even possible that he has family with prop. in

accusing a fellow officer of brutality. last week, he posted an online manifesto, tying his dismissal to a double murder in orange county. kron 4's catherine heenan recaps the series of events >> catherine: on the night of sunday february third, two bodies are found in a car in irvine. they are michelle quan, assistant women's basketball coach at cal state fullerton and her fiancee, keith lawrence. quan's father had represented dorner at his dismissal. and three days later dorner publishes an online manifesto, naming the elder quan and his family as targets. the statement includes a list of other possible victims. hours later, early thursday morning, dorner's truck is spotted in corona. the driver fires at pursuing officers, grazing one in the head. dorner is then suspected of ambushing two riverside officers, killing one and critically injuring another. dorner's truck is discovered burning at the ski resort of big bear lake. an intense search in the

snow turns up no sign of the suspect. on sunday, l=a officials release a surveillance video allegedly showing dorner after the quan=lawrence murders, dumping items in a garbage bin, including an ammo magazine and a military belt. catherine heenan, kron 4. >> pam: a young teenager is seriously hurt. after being hit by a car in concord. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc7 news. over the scene at solano way and grant street. police say, the 14-year- old was in the crosswalk when he was hit. the teen is suffering life- threatening injuries. and was taken to oakland's children's hospital. police do not believe the driver had been drinking or speeding, >> jacqueline: temperatures cool. already, 39 degrees. and fairfield, 37 degrees in

from accounts of the real raid. >> "the united states has conducted an operation that killed osama bin laden." >> reporter: to the hollywood movie but an esquire magazine interview with a member of the seal team is raising new questions: about what happened on that third floor of bin laden's compound. esquire simply calls him "the shooter." and says he fired the shots that killed bin laden. >> "he was very unused to this idea of shooting up, so he wasn't prepared for somebody quite as tall, bin laden was much taller that he expected, so he talks about having to aim his gun up." >> reporter: the shooter says after his point man shot and missed from the 2nd level, both men climbed the stairs to bin laden's bedroom. as the point man peeled off in the hallway to subdue two of bin laden's screaming wives, the shooter entered the room. 'there was bin laden standing there. he had his hands on a woman's shoulders, pushing her ahead. not exactly toward me, but by me.maybe as a shield, i don't know. he's

however, 60s/70's for the afternoon. first, the fog that we are going to see tomorrow for in the north bay, and there is santa rosa. patchy fog for the delta and the inland valleys. however, by 10:00 p.m., sunny skies 5-10:00 a.m. in the morning. to start, just 39 degrees. 30's in napa, freezing in fairfield, livermore. 30's also for the bayshore. for the afternoon if it looks really nice. 66 in cupertino. for the east bay, low 60s. 65 degrees in castro valley. closer to the coast 50s for the coast for the immediate coast. and a range of 60s for the north bay. we will keep it warm

and dry. upper 60s. and even low 70's in some locations. it is going to be quite cold but some temperatures could be increasing however, a bit of a cool down for the weekend of mild for this time of the year. >> an owl had a very close call after getting hit by an s-u-v on a florida turnpike. the owl got stuck inside the s-u-v thursday night - after a woman hit it. she just assumed it was road kill - and said she felt bad about it. she was shocked to find - on friday afternoon -- the owl was alive - and sitting inside the grill of her car. just blinking at her. she called fish and wildlife workers -- and they managed to free it. and -- it looks like the owl will be ok. >> in sports. after four games without a win. the sharks try to get it back together in columbus against the blu jackets.
